Are you a student? Well if you are you know how hectic it can be to keep track of your classes, assignments, and other information related to school. Developer One has the answer for you...ClassPro. Although still in beta this program really looks nice. This is the kind of creative programming that I like to see. Regular PIMs are great, but this one is targeted for students.

ClassPro can track all the information you need for school in an organized way. The help file describes their Two Tap ClassPro Concept. It reads:

"ClassPro for Windows CE cuts through all of the slogans and hype about "Information at your fingertips" and brings it to life.

The Two-Tap concept references ClassPro's simple but highly effective interface that lets you, the student, get access to almost any of the information you need with two taps of the pen.

Taking a look at the basic user interface, ClassPro provides tabs across the top of the display to instantly select the class you are interested in. Tabs down the left hand side of the display allow quick selection of content to view the notes, tasks, or information for the class."

And that's exactly what it does. I can't say it any better than that. The easy to use interface organizes all of your information leaving right at your finger tips. I remember when I was a student, the professor would always hand out the syllabus on the first day. It would include his/her name, phone number, etc., but when I needed that information I'd have to go dig up the syllabus. Usually it was in a folder that I didn't have with me at the time. Well, problem solved! ClassPro allows you to setup a tab for each class you have. You enter in the instructors information, the class schedule, assignments you have, notes, and other tasks. Then when you need it, it's right there.

You can go to schedule view and see your weekly schedule at a glance. You can even save the location of your class so you never forget the room number.

ClassPro is so complete it even includes a report generator. You can print a text report of all the completed tasks, and note summaries. It will save the report for you in text format or Pocket Word format.

One limitation I did discover is the ability to jump to the class details from Schedule view. I like being able to see my weekly schedule at a glance, but find myself trying to tap it to jump to the class. I suppose I can just tap the Tab at the top of the screen, but I'm in the habit from using so many other PIMs.

One other small thing. After I setup a class I realized that I forgot to put the schedule in. When I went to the Math Tab there was no way to edit the schedule. I had to go to the Class menu and find the Edit selection. I'm a stickler for these things. I'd suggest placing an edit button directly on the Class Information Tab. Just a thought.

Check this one out for yourselves folks. This is definitely a creative and well thought through program. Although it's still in beta, ClassPro receives the Award for it's imagination and design. Great job!

At A Glance
Summary: PIM specifically for students.
Pros: Well organized and easy to use.
Cons: Better schedule form would help.
