Stinger Stylus Reviewed

The Stinger is a stylus that is definitely unique.

Orbit Industries has designed a neat little stylus that fits on your fingertip. The coolness factor of the StingerStylus is high, but I’m more concerned with the functionality of these little fingertip pointers.

What is it?

The StingerStylus by Orbit Industries are small plastic styli that you wear on your fingertip. They are fully adjustable, and should comfortably fit everyone, even if you have extremely large or small hands. Shipped unassembled in packs of three, the StingerStylus is ideal for storage in a desk drawer or briefcase.

As I previously mentioned the StingerStylus is definitely cool. After spending some time using these neat little styli I’ve also come to the conclusion that they can be very functional as well. The stylus tip was very smooth (always an important factor in reviewing styli), and it felt very nice moving across the various PDA screens that I used it with.

The StingerStylus was also reasonably comfortable. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that I forgot it was there, but I wasn’t constantly bothered by it either. I don’t generally spend more that half an hour continuously using and of my PDAs so it wasn’t as if I was really wearing the StingerStylus for any extended amount of time, but I don’t think I would have had any problems doing so if the need ever arose.

Doing things other than using my PDA while wearing the Stinger was a mixed bag. I found that I could comfortably write and do a few other tasks (dialing a phone, using my mouse) while wearing the Stinger, but I wasn’t able to type very effectively with the stylus on. More on this will come later in the review.
