Compaq Officially Announces 64 MB iPaq

Compaq has made an official annoucement about the iPaq H3670, a new model of its popular iPaq series handheld that will be ship with 64 MB of included memory. Also announced is the availability of a dual PC Card expansion pack for the iPaq.

The dual PC Card expansion pack will the give the user access to two PC Cards simultaneously. It will sell for $199 when it becomes available in mid-April.

The newly announced iPaq H3670 will look identical to the other members of the iPaq 3600 series, but it will have 64 MB of memory. The H3670 will be focused mainly at the enterprise consumers. Asccording to Compaq spokeswoman Nora Hahn, "The 64MB one is really targeted at an enterprise audience because they are going to need that (much) more memory."

The 3670 will hit stores sometime in April and will retail for approximately $650.
