OQO will license Mobility Electronics' Split Bridge technology for its new fully functional Pocket-sized PC running Windows XP, first introduced last April.

Split Bridge, sold under Mobility Electronics' MAGMA brand, provides docking and connectivity for PCI-based computers. By serializing the transmission of data over a thin cable, Mobility Electronics' said Split Bridge allows the extension of a computer's main PCI bus to a remote location and provides bi-directional bandwidth of 1.25 Gbps. .

According to OQO, the OQO ultra personal computer includes a 1GHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, and a 20GB hard drive in the form factor and with the battery life of a PDA. The device weighs twelve ounces and the battery lasts for 6 hours under normal usage scenarios. It measures 4.1 x 2.9 x 0.9 inches and has 802.11b and Bluetooth wireless networking. Pricing and availability for the QO ultra personal computer haven’t been made available yet.
