HP (NYSE:HPQ) today launched a new promotion for real estate professionals at the 2003 RE/MAX International convention. RE/MAX is a real estate system operating in 42 countries.

From now until June 30, 2003, HP customers who purchase select models of the HP iPAQ Pocket PC real estate solution bundles are eligible to receive a day pass for free access to the T-Mobile HotSpot high-speed wireless Internet service, available at more than 2,200 locations nationwide, including participating Starbucks coffeehouses.

The HP solution combines Pocket Real Estate for Pocket PC software with either an iPAQ h1910 or iPAQ h5450, enabling users to find a particular multiple listing service (MLS) listing or perform market analysis. HP said both models can store thousands of MLS properties, and, with the built in WiFi capability of the iPAQ h5450, real estate professionals also can connect to the Internet wirelessly using T-Mobile's wireless broadband network.

The HP iPAQ h5450 Pocket PC real estate solution, including an iPAQ h5450, an auto adapter for charging, Pocket Real Estate software and a free day pass at T-Mobile HotSpot locations nationwide, is priced at a $50 discount for $874. The iPAQ h5450 features integrated WLAN (802.11b), Bluetooth, biometric fingerprint reader, Intel 400 MHz technology processor, 64 MB of RAM, 48 MB of Flash ROM, and a transflective TFT color display with 65,000 colors support. It weighs 7.26 ounces.

For real estate agents not requiring wireless access, the HP iPAQ h1910 Pocket PC real estate solution includes an iPAQ h1910, an auto adapter and Pocket Real Estate software for $525. The iPAQ h1910 includes an Intel 200 MHz XScale processor, 64 MB of RAM, 16 MB of Flash ROM, and a transflective TFT color display with 65,000 color support. It weighs 4.23 ounces.

In related news, T-Mobile and Starbucks are now offering unlimited wireless access at Starbucks for $30 a month with a year long subscription. Users can also pay 10 cents a minute with a one hour minimum.

Two options exist for Wireless communciations and your Pocket PC. The WiFi / Hot Spots option and GPRS. With the GPRS card agents are not tied to the hot spots but are online wherever they happen to be working. http://www.petersonsales.org/pete...more
