Socket Communications' Bluetooth Connection Kit ($129) for Windows CE now makes it possible to transfer digital photographs from Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones to Pocket PCs. According to the company, transporting and storing these pictures on a Pocket PC frees up the camera to take additional photos. The enhanced Bluetooth Connection Kit also enables Pocket PC users to exchange business cards, send and receive contact information and files, browse remote devices, and share data. Socket's Bluetooth Connection Kit creates a cable-free link between a Windows CE device and a Bluetooth-enabled phone, allowing users to exchange files and email, browse the Internet, fax, or access the company network by using their mobile phone as a modem.
Socket's Bluetooth CompactFlash (card features an integrated antenna, eliminating any changes to the form factor of the handheld device. The Bluetooth Connection Kit is compatible with Windows CE 3.x for Pocket 2000, Pocket PC 2002, and Handheld PC 2000 and will operate in any of these devices with a Type I or Type II CompactFlash slot.
