Bluefire Joins CTIA Leadership Council.

Bluefire Security Technologies has accepted the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association's (CTIA) invitation to join the Wireless Internet Caucus Leadership Council.

According to the company, as a member of this industry group, it will work with other wireless companies, such as Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Nextel Corporation and Verizon Wireless, to accelerate wireless adoption by addressing security concerns often seen as an obstacle to enterprise use of mobile technology.

CTIA said the Leadership Council identifies, defines and prioritizes the impediments facing the wireless industry and assembles action teams of the larger Wireless Internet Caucus to address and remove them. In addition to its role on the Leadership Council, Bluefire said it will help lead the mobile security discussion though active membership on the Enterprise, User Experience and Commerce Ecosystem Management action teams.

Bluefire’s flagship product, the Bluefire Mobile Firewall Plus solution, is a firewall for handheld devices, providing firewall, intrusion prevention, integrity management, encryption, authentication and policy-based enterprise security management features.
