Extended Systems Extends Bluetooth SDK

Extended Systems has released the latest edition, version 1.4 of the its Bluetooth Software Development Kit (SDK). The company said the kit provides mobile device makers with software that shortens development time and ensures complete, robust and user-friendly Bluetooth implementations.

According to Extended Systems, it has more than 180 Bluetooth design wins with its XTNDAccess Bluetooth SDKs for PC and embedded environments. Customers include Motorola, HP, Visteon, Harmon-Becker, Johnson Controls, BMW, Panasonic, Broadcom, Fujitsu, Palm and other companies providing products for telematics, medical, industrial, telecommunications and other industries requiring mobile connectivity.

The company said XTNDAccess Blue SDK version 1.4 provides more robust handling of a wide variety of Bluetooth radios, making it easier for applications to handle missing radio events, unexpected disconnections, and hardware re-initialization. Version 1.4 also includes improved security features, built-in performance monitoring, an intelligent Device Selector that allows applications to query a database of previously connected devices, and other performance and usability improvements.
