Sprint on Wednesday started selling the first Pocket PC phone with a built-in camera and keyboard.
Hitachi's G1000 is part CDMA phone, part personal digital assistant (PDA). Based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile software for Pocket PCs, the device features a 400MHz Intel XScale processor, 32MB of memory and a 65,000 color display.
The G1000 is Hitachi's first Pocket PC device. In addition to the built-in QWERTY keyboard and rotating VGA-quality digital camera, it also includes an SD card slot for expansion; voice- controlled dialing; speakerphone; and an embedded GPS chip for future location-based services.
It is available nationwide to Sprint customers for $649.99. Related Links:
