PhatWare Brings Note Taking App to Pocket PC

PhatWare has begun shipping PhatPad for Windows Mobile software for Pocket PC, a enhanced note taking application optimized for the latest Windows Mobile Pocket PC platforms.

PhatWare claims PhatPad uses a new digital ink technology that provides extremely smooth ink flow. The product allows users to draw pictures, jot text notes, or put a mix of pictures and text on a virtual scratch pad. PhatPad's user interface supports a full range of editing commands including zoom and special fit to screen mode, 39-color pen palette, variable pen width, up to 1,000 handwritten pages per file with easy navigation, and more. Notes and drawings can be exported as bitmap or jpeg images, emailed as file attachments, and transferred to other Pocket PCs via infrared.

With PhatWare's CalliGrapher handwriting recognition product installed on the Pocket PC, PhatPad recognizes handwritten notes and converts them to plain text. It also offers the ability to search handwritten notes for specific text.

PhatPad for Pocket PC sells for $19.95, but is available for a limited time at $9.95.
