MAP&GUIDE GmbH has released a series of maps of European cities for the Pocket PC that feature highlights from the Lonely Planet travel books.

The company says the electronic guides, which are available for Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Florence, London, Madrid, Munich, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Venice, Vienna and Zurich, includes information about important buildings, rivers, parks, train stations and more.

Users can indicate their actual position (e.g. your hotel) on the map with a marker and then add the desired point of interest by clicking the map. In addition, users can have their position shown directly on the map using a GPS receiver. Using the intelligent city guide search function, users can view all information according to distance from their current location or have the best tips from a specific category shown along a certain route.

Map & Travel Top Cities Europe featuring Lonely Planet individual city guides cost $19.99 for each city map.
