Intermec Intros GPS for 700 Series

Everett, Wash.-based Intermec on Friday announced a new GPS receiver for its 700 Series handheld computer.

The GlobalPoint GPS 12-channel Global Positioning System receiver from LinksPoint attaches to the bottom of the 700 Series and provides GPS location data to software running on the device. Intermec said the receiver allows 700 Series devices to be used for location-oriented applications including field data collection, vehicle, personnel and asset tracking, navigation, field service management and proof of delivery.

Intermec’s 700 Color Series can integrate personal (Bluetooth), local (802.11b) and wide area (GPRS or CDMA) network radios in one device. The handhelds run Microsoft's Windows Mobile software for Pocket PC.
