By PocketPC City Staff
Bitstream has released version 1.10 of ThunderHawk, its Web browser for the Pocket PC. This release adds support for the HP iPAQ 4xxx (4155 and h4355) series of Pocket PCs, as well as most MDA II and XDA II Pocket PC Phone devices, including i-mate, O2, Qtek 2020, and T-Mobile devices. ThunderHawk PocketPC Edition allows users to browse the Web on Pocket PC devices, enabling a Pocket PC with a 320x240 color LCD screen to display a legible SVGA (800x600) or VGA (640x480) screen of a Web page. A client-server technology, ThunderHawk relies on a server infrastructure combined with a small piece of thin-client code on the actual handheld device. The server transmits Web content in a compact format to mobile devices. ThunderHawk supports Web pages that are compliant with open HTML standards. While the ThunderHawk application doesn't cost anything, users must pay a monthly, $5.95, or yearly, $49.95, fee for the service. Related Links:
