By James Alan Miller
There are three Axim X51 Pocket PCs, a couple of variations on the X51 and the X51v. The specifications to the Axim X51 models should sound familiar, as they are basically the previous Axim X50 series with an operating system update. The "v" in the $500 X51v—the company's new top-of-the-line Pocket PC—signifys the device's VGA (640 x 480 pixel) resolution screen. The PDA also features a 624 MHz CPU, 256 MB of memory, plus Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless networking support. The other two X51 models have basic QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) resolution displays. One of these Pocket PCs ($400) runs on a 520 MHz processor and has 128 MB of memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. While the second one ($300) uses a 416 MHz processor and 128 MB of storage, and Bluetooth but not Wi-Fi. Additional features off all Axim X51 models include slots for Secure Digital (SD) cards and another for CompactFlash cards. They measure 4.7 x 2.9 x .7 inches millimeters and weigh 6.2 ounces. The two Pocket PCs with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi bundle a cradle with a slot for an extra battery.
