Twitter fans are going to be excited about this announcement; the social networking site that aims to answer the question "What are you doing?" now has a mobile page, m.twitter.com. Twitter as a whole makes the answer to this question public. Other users make you their friend so they can get updated on your status.

The point of the new mobile page is to make it easier for Twitter users to update their status, see your profile, and see your friends and what updates they've sent when on the move.

Twitter already allowed you to get SMS messages when your friends update their status and even has a BlackBerry application—but it only allows you to see what you and your friends have updated recently. It also enables you to update your status, which you can also do via SMS.

Many people have found other uses for the service. One site has been providing information from the RIM's Wireless Enterprise Symposium via Twitter. And even Barack Obama has a Twitter account because it is a great way to keep people updated about someone or something, almost like a mini blog.

In addition to the new mobile website, Twitter added the ability to block people from adding you as a friend.
