WindowsMobileToday > News > Alert: Palm Posts Treo 750 Audio Fix Alert: Palm Posts Treo 750 Audio Fix
By SmartPhoneToday Stafff
You see, when too many applications share Treo 750's audio driver at the same time, these sounds can become muted. These applications can include the device Notes Recorder, the Vibrate Motor, Voice Command, Windows Media Player, or the camera/video recorder.
The loss of audio alerts can sometimes manifest itself in the camera/video recorder not functioning correctly. Palm's software upgrade allows the Treo 750 to maintain all application calls to the audio driver and therefore avoid the applications from entering the suspend state loop that causes sounds to be muted. Click here to download what Palm is calling the Audio Alerts Update, intructions on how to install it, and - most importantly - to learn how if you need it in the first place. Keep in mind, the update is only for the AT&T Treo 750 users only. While you should always back up your data when installing software like this, unlike a ROM or firmware upgrade, Palm's Audio Alerts Update does not erase all the data on your Treo. If you install the Audio Alerts Update and perform a hard reset later on you will need to re-install it afterwards. But if you install the audio fix and perform a soft reset, the Audio Alerts Update remains, so re-installing it isn't nessesary. Related Links:
