Several BlackBerry Bolds Sold for $1,300 Each

Can't wait to get your hands on RIM's latest BlackBerry model? You were briefly luck. Briefly. A store in mid-town Manhattan just sold five of them for $1,300. According to a report, The New York BlackBerry Center had five pre-release BlackBerry Bold's on hand and was willing to part with them for the aforementioned astronomical sum. Which, it apparently, had no problem doing.

The Bold was supposed to ship in July from AT&T and is available in Canada and other places already Its U.S. launch has been delayed for what some are saying are performance issues with the carrier's 3G network. Although the BlackBerry Bold is supposed to be an giant evolutionary step forward over the BlackBerry Curve, it's not supposed to revolutionary, let alone in a pre-release state

Then again, if you've got no problem ponying up $1,300 for beta hardware, your gonna have no problem buying the real deal (for far less) as well when AT&T finally launches the Bold in this country, perhaps as soon as this month.
