Message:I'm trying to connect my iPaq to a Linux box via ppp over a couple different types of interfaces (Bluetooth and null modem) and I'm running into the same problem with both connections. Most of the time, after the connection is initially established (to the point where the iPaq should believe that it has detected carrier), the connection drops immediately. I see this problem both with my own code and when attempting a connection from the "Connections" panel. Also, it doesn't seem to matter whether I have the connection configured as a direct connection or a modem connection. For modem connections, I wrote a small modem emulator program that responds to all of the iPaq's AT commands with OK, until it receives the ATDT command, at which point it responds with CONNECT (the connection usually drops shortly after (< 1 second) the iPaq receives the CONNECT string). For the direct connect, I send CLIENTSERVER after it sends out CLIENT. It usually disconnects as soon as it receives CLIENTSERVER. It doesn't seem to be for lack of carrier detect line - during the rare times where it does actually successfully connect, I can pull carrier detect inactive through a breakout box, but the connection still doesn't drop. Am I overlooking something obvious? BTW, I've tried this with a Jornada and seem to have the same problem. Thanks, Chris
