I have the Ent. Pack and it's not too bad. Taipei is a version of Shanghai, and it's pretty popular, and that's just one of the games. If you are a computer programmer, you can download the "eMbedded" systems compiler from Microsoft for free. Compile using settings for 2.11 and MIPS, and you're there. Need any custom programs? I think one of their samples is a mortgage calculator -- always handy. There is some software source out there that theoretically you could recompile and POOF, you're there! I wanted to do a pet project, just for the heck of it, but it's easier said than done. First, you have to have an idea of what you want to do, then, the CE libraries are not as full-featured as Win32, so you're limited.
You can download Windows Media Player to listen to MP3s and WMP files. I think the other poster mentioned the "power toys" which are cool.
The Mirosoft site also has an upgrade to WinCE 2.11, but I don't think there's anything essential. There is supposed to be a "bug" with one of the graphics drivers that gets installed, but I've tried using both the new and the old version, and I still get that crappy distortion when I try to view pictures. This is probably the single biggest fault I have with the Z50.
Use AvantGo to download websites and view them at your leisure. This is probably my most common use for the Z50. You can download made-for-portables websites that have few pictures, or you can download a real website, but it'll take up lots of room.
One of the websites (??) had a suggestion to upgrade the "disk driver" that handles the CF card. Since I did that, I think it's a bit more reliable. The odd thing is that you go to the IBM website and download the driver for the "microdrive". I'd give you more exact instructions, but I can't remember, sorry! I think the file name is "atadisk.dll", so if you do a search here on Wincecity (and on IBM) you'll probably find the info.
Do some web searches. I found one site that had some nice looking shareware games that might be to someone's liking. (http://randomly.com/index-en.html I have not tried them, so this is not a recommendation, just passing the info. along.)
Let the rest of us know what you come up with.
