Message:

I mostly use Avantgo to download web pages, and read them at my leisure. You don't need to use their channels -- you can download regular websites. However, some sites just don't work right, including (amazingly) this one. Oh well. Avantgo is a neat feature, but for some web sites, it is not a good use of the internet; for example, if you actually did try to download this site daily, it would re-download ALL of the messages EVERY DAY! Kind of an abuse of bandwidth, but then again, it's probably a lot less that people's media downloads, so I guess I shouldn't worry too much about it. :-)

I also have a few games on it, but I am disappointed that I cannot run newer software on it.

I have experimented with various technologies on it -- you can run REXX and Java on it, for one thing! (The Java runs rather slowly, and only supports old Java, not Java 2, I think.) But I can't say that I've really come up with something "important" to do with it. I mean, I could write some sort of utility, like, say, a mortgage calculator, if I just had the motivation and the idea. (I actually have a programmable calculator that I use to do my portable mortgage/loan calculations. :-) ) If you're a programmer, Microsoft has a free (!!!) compiler that you can use to write VB or C++ programs. (Unfortunately, you need to run the compiler on a host computer, not the Z50. In fact, the hardest thing for me is to find programming software that will run on it. I think there's a C compiler available for a small charge.
