Great for Business Applications
I developed several business applications that runs pretty well on the iPAQ h3850. I have no complaint about it. Perhaps a reduced size will be better. Anyway, excellent features and good price.

Great tool, yet Bluetooth still faulty!
What a pitty that Compaq was unable until today to fix the Bluetooth problem, that forces you to soft-reset the ipaq about every other time you want to establish a Bluetooth connection. I installed all updates and patches, hard-reset and so on. Nothing helps! Also quite frequently after switching on, the device does not find the correct battery status and simply switches down after 10 seconds or so. Comapq did not respond at all on many user's complaints about this. They recommend hard-resets (aka "I really have no clue. I hope that you forget about the problem, once you hard-reset and need all your time to get your original configuration & data back in place") or ask you to return the ipaq for service, only to tell you that everything is OK.

Constant Companion
This has all but replaced my laptop.I have a Refurbished 3835 with a CF sleeve, a 32MB MMC card for programs, the native memory for downloaded items and a 340MB Iomega Microdrive and two 64mb CF cards. Not only can I store addresses, music and pictures I can also read and compose e-mails comfortably using the on-screen keyboard. While traveling, I can take pictures with my Kodak DX4900 on the 64mb CF card, copy the pictures to native memory, pop the Microdrive in and copy them there. I can swap the contents continually. Then If I need more room, I can get my laptop out of the hotel safe and move the pictures, some 500 of them, by PCMCIA converter or even by USB or IR connection to my Laptop's 10GB harddrive, giving me room for another 500 pictures (I've never carried more than 200!!). On a daily basis, I can connect to the net on my notebook or Desktop and use MS Reader and Mobipocket to download newspapers, magazines and books. I can run games on it. And with PocketDOS Emulator I can run my old DOS GAMES on it!! (something my Pentium Laptop has trouble with!!) All in a device that fits in my pants pocket!! A way to take the laptop and the desktop everywhere without the bulk. I've had it since January, so this is not "new item gush" ... I truly do use and enjoy this device.

Wow!
After using A Palm Vx I upgraded to a Sony Clie. Loved the color but thought something was missing. Then I bought a 3835. And WOW. What a marvel. I can't believe what I was missing. The palm is very entry level. Now all the other things in the world I can do. I may never do them all, but it is worth knowing I can if I can. My wife who is a long time palm user even switched. Were still amazed. No problems, only happy users.

AWESOME PRODUCT
I'm not sure what my life was like without this cool product! I take my IPAQ everywhere and find a new use for it everyday. I'm a true techie geek, but this is something that, through my own raving, I have talked several other people into getting. Everyone that has purchased it under my recomendation is extremely happy!

The best PDA available today.
I have had the Palm, Palm III, Palm v, Jornado, Ipaq 3200 and now the 3800. If you are just using a PDA for calendar and address's any one of them work great.I keep meeting minutes, pictures, excel spreadsheets PPT files and a lot more. I found that this is the best unit so far. The OS has a lot to do with it, Microsoft made a huge improvement. If you want to do more this has the horsepower.
