Quick, easy to use, and secure. Crippin compresses files and encrypts them using RSA encryption. The encrypted files are generally less than half the size of the originals.
Crippin runs under all versions of the Pocket PC operating system (ARM, MIPS, SH3, or XSCALE processors).
Use Crippin to store data in spreadsheets, word processor documents, images, etc.
Crippin gives easy access to compressed files, and makes it simple to re-compress them afterwards. Entry of passwords is minimised, making it unusually simple to open and re-compress files, and to handle multiple files with the same (or no) password.
To help conceal the encrypted files from prying eyes, they are hidden, and so do not show up in File Explorer.
The freeware/trial version here provides fully-functional compression, but truncates passwords to two characters, so only provides limited security. A full version (max password length = 255 characters) is available from PocketGear.
Now available with PocketMac installer (use the "Other" download link below to try it out).
